Curriculum

CASL's curriculum is centered around building lessons that positively impact our communities.

As we enter into a world filled with unknowns, it is up to all of us to have the courage to unleash our curiosity and explore new ideas as the leaders of tomorrow. The Curriculum Committee is beyond excited to share the journey we’ve embarked on through new, interactive lessons at the 2025 CASL State Conference. To the people who dare to dream and to the people who dare to wonder, The 2024-2025 CASL Curriculum Committee

I remember choosing to be a part of this committee. I chose it because I wanted to do something about the delegates’ inspiring life and leadership lessons that they would hopefully carry with them for the rest of their lives. One of my favorite memories was the November board meeting where we had some time to bond and work together to provide the best curriculum for the state of California. Curriculum has truly taught me a lot about connection and to keep exploring for the best possible outcome you can have. Whomever this may concern, I encourage you to find your people and wonder about what comes next.

To be a part of the backbone of which the CASL State Conference is primarily made from is exhilarating. I’ve always had a desire to express my creativity, especially through art. However, being a part of Curriculum allowed me to do the same in a form which I don’t often explore. I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of the Curriculum Committee with whom I connected so quickly. There is never a dull moment on our calls and I can’t wait to see the future of our committee for the rest of the year.

What makes the curriculum committee truly special is that it is an opportunity to provide the student leaders of today and tomorrow with material that they will use not only in their leadership journey, but in their daily lives. That’s what makes this committee so special, the fact that it is a chance to inspire and provide leaders with the means to grow. My favorite part of curriculum is seeing each other at board meetings, as every board meeting, we feel more and more connected. Through weekly calls we have become close not only as leaders, but as friends. This has not only made my experience on the curriculum committee an absolute blast, but it has also allowed for our committee to run smoothly and efficiently. For anyone reading this, I truly hope that you continue to unleash your curiosity, as you explore the unknown and learn completely new things. Your future is what you make of it.

Being a part of the curriculum committee has taught me the importance of being a part of something larger than oneself. I have learned a lot about myself and leadership throughout this journey, and alongside, I made so many valuable memories. My favorite moments are when we bond after finishing our duties during our weekly meetings. Making jokes and playing games together makes our bond even closer as a committee. I knew I wanted to be a part of this committee the moment I got a glimpse of the job. Working alongside a team to build a curriculum that will give our delegates the greatest experience possible inspires me to work harder everyday. I am grateful for the experiences and friendships this organization, and especially curriculum, has had to offer.

It is an incredible feeling and opportunity to build the very heart that beats for others—a heart shaped for serving, igniting passions, and building the leaders of tomorrow. The curriculum committee and the work of creating lessons for the 2025 CASL State Conference has been beyond fulfilling and an experience I will never forget.

To all of the leaders, thank you for having the courage to take a chance on yourself and trusting us with the heart of California.

To my committee, thank you for providing me with the space to build a brighter tomorrow, today.

Don’t Forget! • Stay tuned after the 2025 CASL State Conference for the release of our digital curriculum to help shape the leaders of tomorrow!
